TM-1, C6 and Windows 2000 HELP!!!!

TM-1, C6 and Windows 2000 HELP!!!!

2006-10-19 by roby@sweet-trip.net

(i'm going to send these questions to support too, but i though i post
them here for a possibly quick response:)

Yo, is anyone here running their TM-1 on Windows 2000 and can confirm that
it works? I've been getting BSODs ever since I got it, but maybe I caused
it. Here's a timeline: When I firt got t I hooked it up to my
Windows2000 machine, it ran the installer by itself, chose 'USB Audio
Device', etc. But I opened MIDI-Ox, Live, EnergyXT, and other apps and it
didn't show up. Before rebooting I went ahead and install the *.inf file
provided by Elektron on the support website (that inf file apparently on
changes the title in Windows from 'USB Audio Device' to "TM-1 something")
I rebooted with teh TM-1 attached and I got my first BSOD. I've tried
uninstalling the hardware and reconnecting it, and no success. I've tried
reverting to USB Audio Device and I still either get my computer to freeze
or BSOD. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, on an unrelated topic, I haven't been able to use C6 for a while
now. It opens up, and everything seems to work, but when I click the
[Configure] button, a memory error pop-up comes up, I press [OK], and it
closes the application :( Any thoughts? There doesn't seem to be a
registry entry for C6 the I can inspect..

RE: [elektron] TM-1, C6 and Windows 2000 HELP!!!!

If elektron is using generic USB class driver for the TM (which it seems
like since there's 'no driver requiered' for OSX & XP), it will *never* work
under windows 2000. Believe it or not but generic class driver for MIDI &
audio (which is really the mainstream type driver used now) is BSOD'ing
windows 2000 like no tomorrow. I don't think there's any ways around it !

Cheers,
Marc
