How to play Melodies with Machinedrum's Midi Machine?

How to play Melodies with Machinedrum's Midi Machine?

2007-05-24 by Nico Grubert

Hi there,

in my machinedrum I have put a MIDI Machine on track
16 to play an external synthesizer. (Thanks to
Fran\ufffdois for the tip!)
In my machinedrum on track 16 I have set some steps:

   [1] [4] [7] [10] [13]

Right now, each note has the same pitch. That's okay
fpr a bassline. :-)
But how can I assign different pitch to each step to
play a melody? Let's say I want assign note "C1" to
step [1], "E2" to step [4], and so on.

Is that possible with the machinedrum?

cheers
Nico

Parameter lock the pitch.

Hi Nico.

Did you read the manual ? I mean, this is basic operation.

You just need to use parameter locks. It's very simple and straightforward. Push on the
button of your first step, turn a knob and choose a value (in this case choose the pitch of
the note, which is the parameter corresponding to knob A in the synthesis screen), release
the button and away you go.

You can do this with any parameters on any machine.

Have fun.

Works great! Thank you!
