triggering mnm patterns from sequencer

triggering mnm patterns from sequencer

2007-10-01 by hymen_blaster

I posted some of this on elektron-users.com and got no response, so I
figured I'd try here...

The machinedrum can be configured with multimap such that a pattern
plays for as long as an incoming note is held. According to the mono
manual, it has the same functionality but it does not seem to work.

What happens instead is that whichever pattern is currently selected
begins as soon as a note is received and it never stops playing.
Playing other notes only restarts the patterns.

I have the SFX-6 version and have tried doing this with both external
midi and the mono keyboard itself with both Multimap mode on and with
it off. I have tried several different midi channel setups and I have
verified that my midi interface is sending the proper note on the
proper channel. It still does not work. Does anyone have any advice on
this? It seems it used to work at one point, but I waited a long time
to upgrade my OS and somewhere in there it seems to have broken.

I've just bought a SPS-1 and read its users's guide. I remember
something about the multimap, but I just would have advised you to
check MIDI channel etc, which you've done yet.

Soo... try again step by step with the guide, and if it still does not
work, maybe you should warn Elektron of what seems to be a bug...

Do you mean the ears? Elektron's site has them, but it's
not obvious:
