TM-1/USB Audio Device not recognized anymore!!

TM-1/USB Audio Device not recognized anymore!!

2008-03-31 by roby

Hi, I was hoping someone could help figure this out.
Yesterday I was working with Live using the TM1 and other audio devices.
Everything worked fine. I shut down my system to go have dinner with
friends. Came back, booted up, double clicked on Live to continue working
and Live wouldn't start, although in task manager it was opened but using
99% cpu!! After a little investigating, I realized that for some strange
reason, all my audio and MIDI devices were correctly listed under Device
Manager (sorry, I should've said earlier that I'm on a Windows XP machine
SP2), and none reported having errors. But for some reason, none of the
applications that use these devices, like Live, EnergyXT2, Minihost, SOund
Forge, recognize any of them.

Sorry I know this is a very general issue, but it's affecting my TM-1, as
well as my Layla24 audio interface. So any help would be very much
appreciated.

Did you try restarting your computer?

I have had live do this from time to time. Rebooting will fix it, and
thats the only way to get it to start again.

I only ever use the TM-1 for sysex transfers. I can't really use it in
cubase or live, it tends to hang the entire apps until I unplug it every
now and again. XP sp2 here as well... =/

Have you guys tried one of the other usb ports on your computers? I
used mine for everything when I was on XP SP2, never really had any
issues with it.

Re: [elektron] TM-1/USB Audio Device not recognized anymore!!

2008-03-31 by roby

Actually before yesterday's problem started, whenever Live would hang
because of the TM, what I would do was close Live, then open MIDI-Ox, make
sure the TM was working there, then close and restart Live. I would work
perfectly then.

But now I have no idea what the problem is, and it is definitely not just
the TM, but also my audio interface Layla24 that's having this problem.
So it seems to me the problem is Windows... Dammit!

Mine won't work at all unless I put it in one of the ports on the
computer itself, so, yes...
