Sources for SID Chips?

2001-08-09 by Eric Weik

Hi all,

Sorry if this is a bit off topic (feel free to e-mail me off the list), but
I'm looking for an extra SID chip (preferably a 6581 not an 8580). It
isn't for my SIDstation, but rather for my SX-64 (which I use for
Cybertracker, SAM, and some homebrew projects). I'm not sure what is
wrong with the chip that is in it now, but it produces noises that have
only a faint resemblance to what they should (read as clicks and pops
instead of tones).

I know that I could pick up a used C64 on Ebay and pop the SID out of it,
but I'd prefer not to render an otherwise functional C64 silent.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Eric

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
