Bass sound:
Use the E12 Bassdrum and try to experiment with RTRG and RTIM
In the first edit window.
If you want it distorted add some distortion :)

I agree, the E12 bass drum kicks ass. Also you can layer it with a low tom
pitched down and distorted or whatever and turn up the compressor til it
rocks the house; even clipping might be useful if you want a seriously
hardcore bass drum sound.

Sound definitions in SIDStation

2001-11-12 by Tony Black - 100% Pure ACID Techno

A question about the SIDStation.. and how it compares to the old '64.

SID programming in Commodore 64 assembler was painful and tedious... but
rewarding ! Now we own a SID Station.. and it brings back the good old
days. However.. I have trouble programming the SID Station in the way I got
used to on the 64.

For instance.. programming drumsounds on a 64 could be done by defining
'instruments'.. with osc settings, envelope, filter and all that. Using the
sidstation, I can only produce brief (or long) bursts of 'noise'.

Am I missing something, or is the SID Station not capable of this ?

64 / SID Station freaks out there.. give me a hand please.

Thanx,

Well, the SID has filters, envelope and all that. What is your problem with
it ?

hi, tony....did you find the wavetables yet? they are the key..

however, do not expect to create entire sidtunes with the sidstation...
(use the fuken awesome prg GoatTracker for that!) It's really only
mono-timbral! It's billed as "the synth that was supposed to be mae
with the SID" not "let's you write C64 sidTunes" However, with clever
programming of wavetables, etc, you can make some pretty damn nice songs...

MD KIT ASSGN

hello!

Just a simple yes/no question:
anybody experienced the situation that the KIT assigned to a pattern
suddenly was lost and the pattern was using "New Kit"?

no, I haven't .plenty of times, I've switched to a new pattern, only
to wipe out my changes to the one I was just working on! Now, when
creating, I save before changing patterns! :)

someone asked how to make a bad-ass drum sound....I'm thinking, it might be
interesting to send the output from the kick back to the input using an
external patch cable, so that you can apply filtering after the distortion,
since "the distortion is applied after the synthesis and track effects"
