Elektron Musical Instruments

Hi,

I've just started using the song mutes recently and discovered a 
problem, the mutes don't seem to catch on the first line of a 
song, so say you have a list of patterns in a song and a few 
mutes set up on the first pattern, it won't mute them, it only mutes 
from the second line onwards. 

The workaround seems to be to set up a blank pattern first then 
subsequent patterns are muted correctly but this creates another 
problem, if you set up a series of loops to change between 
looping patterns in a song, then when you then jump to another 
part in the song, the first loop again does not set the mutes 
correctly, it plays all  tracks regardless of the mute settings on 
the first pattern of the loop. I hope this makes sense.

Any help and/or tips (other workarounds) for this would be greatly 
appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, I have noticed the same problem.

I was using the "short empty pattern" workaround before, but 
now I just make a pattern that is a copy of the one I was going to 
use, but with the tracks I had wanted muted - just erased.  Then I 
can go into the original pattern and mutes all work fine after that.  
It does end up using an extra pattern but if you are tricky with the 
song mode then you can really get all the variation you need.  I've 
never seen a "pattern-chain" style song sequencer that lets you 
use just specific portions of the pattern like the MD... it rox!

Hopefully there will be a fix soon... I think I'll send the Elektron 
guys a bug report.
