sync´n MD with hardware sequencer.

2002-04-15 by pretoroq

Hi everyone.
I´m preparing a live and in my setup I have the MD slaved to a
doepfer regelwerk hardware seq. and sometimes it is not working well.
Has anyone experienced any problems slaving the MD yet? In my case
what happens is that it starts and stops correctly but with no sync.
I have the MD global settings tempo(external) and cntrl in (on).
Any ideas about this may be happening are apreciated?
Thank you
Joao Roquette

Yes, I have similar problems with Cubase or any hardware
sequencer that I've tried. The problem seems to be that if the
MD doesn't recieve midi clock for more than 3 seconds, it reverts
back to the internal clock (even if you have set it to external sync),
and then when it does recieve external midi clock and a start
message, it will start a little late as it switches back to external
sync. My solution has been to quickly start - stop - start Cubase
(or whatever is the master clock), and then it always works. This
is a vast improvement over the sync issues with OS .95, but still
needs work.

Move to quarantaine
