Another question for all you MD owners. Some people on this Yahoo
Group have posted messages complaining about the MD being noisy or
distorted. That doesn't sound too good, are many people having the
  same problem?

I didn't have a problem, even though my MD was one of the very first
batch. It's at Elektron right now to get a knob fixed (problem with the
first batch), and in the meanwhile, they're changing the audio board as
well, I've heard. I guess whatever problem anyone might have noticed (I
heard radio frequencies when switching the MD off! :-), it should be
gone in later batches.

Cheers,
Joeri

I got mine fairly recently (a month and a half or so) and I can
hear radio frequencies when I shut it off.

Regardless, I did manage to remedy most of the noise problem by
very carefully setting up the gains and amplification throughout my
system. There's still some noise, but it's manageable. Elektron
recommended trying a DI, but I haven't had a chance to plug mine into
the MD yet...
