Preset Midi Dump Problem

Preset Midi Dump Problem

1999-09-28 by ds@xxxxx.xx

Hi Everybody - I need your help

First of all - I sent this message to elektron but couldn't get
through cause their mail server must be down. So you are my last
chance.

This is Daniel from Bonn/Germany and I have a real Problem !!!
Last week on Tuesday I recieved my sidstation from elektron and today
I don 't have any of the factory presets anymore ! Why that ??
Listen:
I downloaded the sysex Factory Presets from the sidstation support site
(to have a backup) as well as the patchbank from Klaus P. Rausch
and didn't realise that the factory Presets must be some sort of
DOS or Windows format. I only have an Internetaccount at my work
(and there is no sequenzer!) and at home I use an atari with Cubase.
So I loaded the KPR patchbank as midifile to Cubase and dumped it to
the Sidstation - worked great because it is a standard midifile - but
the factory presetpatchbank is not -> so when I wanted to dump the factorypatches again to my
sidstation I couldn't manage it because my atari/cubase couldn't handle
this file. Bad. So you have to help me (hope somebody will) ---------->
best method should be if someone dumps the factorypatchbank to his sequenzer
(think you have one) and store it as standard midifile and attach it to
an email to my mail address ds@.... So I can copy this standard
midifile
to a floppy disk and take it home and dump it to my machine. Hope thats
possible for someone of you - I would be very glad - so make my day !

However I like the sidstation and seems to be that I start falling in
love with her and I don't do quick - usually I only love my Waldorf stuff
(Pulse + Microwave II) and the Kawai K5000 !

Greetings from Germany

Daniel Skomorowsky

I sent the patches in a .MID file to Daniel. Daniel, let the list know if
they worked or not.

That's high praise indeed for the SidStation! ;)

Oh oh... you only just started falling in love with the Sidstation? The worst part is still to
come: total addiction! Ever seen all people in a train stare at you when you talk to your
Sidstation? It sure gives an adrenaline kick! :-)))

Take care of yourself, and your Sidstation. ;-)

Ciao,
Joeri
