I'm having the same exact problems. They told me to send it back, so I am.
I'm not real happy about having to do that, but I guess I have to.

Are you sure the OS is buggy? If so, work with Elektron to locate the
bugs (send them detailed and documented bug reports so they can
reproduce it) and have it fixed. Why don't you post those reports here
too so we can check for you?
I personally don't believe it's the OS.

I have had no crashes and no noise problems and I've been using the MD
in many commercial releases..

Joeri

I totally agree here. Send it back, but! Include as much information
as possible on your setup, your midi connections and such. There is
nothing worse than trying to debug something that comes in with the
erroe description "Crashes!!!!!!!!!".

If they can't reproduce it, they can't fix it.

If you send the MD to Elektron, I believe that they will fix the noise
on the outputs as well.

Hello all...Thanks for all the replies.....
I'm sending my MD back...Unfortunately, the crashes on my unit
are very random, which leaves me somewhat hopeless.....There
isn't much more to say but "CRASHES"! It crashes more when
midi is hooked up. Stand alone it crashes sometimes....That's
pretty much the extent of my detailed bug report.... Oh yeah and
the lights keep going on and off when I press buttons in a
crashed state.... I'm hoping they just send me a new unit that
doesn't crash! Thanks again for responding.....
Good night,Jeremy .

it is definitely something in the os, i have been keeping them posted
as well......the closest i can come to understanding what it is is
when you alter global settings, specifically the pattern
trig/notes....if i dont touch this everything is fine, but when i
alter these (which i HAVE to by way of my studio setup) it is onyl a
matter fo time until things freeze and a soft reset is needed
again......sigh

Good point! Mine did freeze a few times AFTER altering something in the
global settings, though I do now know what. After the reset I didn't
have any troubles anymore.

Elektron is known for their excellent customer service. I'm sure that if
you help locate the bug, they'll fix it in no time.

Good, you're getting very close. Try to narrow it down a bit more!

Good luck!
