Am I retarded or is the muting in song mode majorly glitched?  The first 
slot of every song WILL NOT mute ANYTHING, even though I've muted 
every track in the pattern except one.  If I insert loops, the first pattern 
of every loop throughout the whole song WILL NOT mute ANYTHING, 
again same problem.  This is driving me insane, I just want to hobble 
together some simple build-ups and it appears to be bugged.  Anybody 
else.....?????

You're right, this is an evident bug (or bad implementation) of muting.
Hope that elektron will correct this in the next os update.
While we wait for the fixing, just place an empty pattern at the start 
of your songs and muting will work correctly.
