i just don't like the feel of them - they DO feel old skool - like my old
Roland MSQ...Im just not into that feel I guess...not when Im touching the
buttons as much as I am on the MachineDrum.

as for solidity, yeah, the box itself feels solid...but the software is
already giving me problems. The post last week about it freezing up when
recieving clock...that's happening to me. Ive had to restart it 3 times
because of 'crashes'.

What was the result of those posts? Anyone figure out what the problem was?
I dont have the OUT of the MD plugged into anything, just the IN (from the
out of my MOTU Timepiece)

Well, midi out can't obviously be the cause of your problems, eve if it
were connected to somehing.
But midi in can easily be if you send bad data to the md.
You should try your MD without anything connected to the midi in.
If it still crashes, then you could have a faulty unit.
