Hello Hey Cliff - that midi dump worked at all but only for 63 sounds (00 - 62) but I think I made a mistake while download or copy. So I had a look with an editor - anyone knows emacs the editor bible for programmers ? - on your file and there all sounds are included. Think I try again but anyway I'm glad at all - everything fine Thanks Daniel

Why not Put this on the list as an attachment? I'd like to have it too.

However, there is a common filespace available if you log into the elektron-users mailinglist at www.onelist.com that should be perfect for these kind of things! __ __///Daniel Hansson | SidStation - MOS6581 Synthesis \XX/ daniel@... | www.sidstation.com

Hi, > ...I'm glad I subscribed to the > list yesterday(I was asking what for - now I know)... And I'm glad to announce that the amount of subscribers has doubled again! >From 20 to 40 subscribers! And that's without any promotion. I just tried out some promotional stuff with the logic-users list and if it works, I'll do the same for the elektron-users list. (lots of magazines will be publishing the links) As for the midi dump problem: I also have a problem when dumping a SysEx file containing all patches. If I send one by one, then it's Ok, but when I send a complete bank, some of the sounds don't work. Could have been a bug with my Unitor8 as well though. I just installed a new OS into my Unitor and I'll try uploading a sound bank again soon. Ciao, Joeri -- Joeri Vankeirsbilck joeri@... I'm not sure about the SidStation, but some MIDI equipment will not be able to take it if all the SysEx data is dumped at maximum speed. Usually software will let you pause for X milliseconds every Y bytes when doing a SysEx dump. The file I have made available (currently at http://www.roguebard.com/sounds/SidStationPresets/SidStation_Presets_Rev1.mid) is just a MIDI file encapsulating the SysEx dump available from Elektron's site. A *better* way to do it (and one that I've been meaning to do, but I've just not gotten around to it yet) is to separate out the individual patches in the dump by time (which I believe is how the patches are separated in Klaus' MIDI-file patch dump) so that even if your sequencer doesn't handle SysEx timing properly, it will still go through because each individual patch dump is fairly small in size and less susceptible to overloading the SidStation (if that is what is happening) because they'll be sent over a period of time rather that in one fell swoop. -- R. Dumping either the complete SysEx or Midi Patches in one go without any Tweaking worked flawlessly with every SysEx/MidiDumper I tried on my ATARI-ST (and I'm running 144 Midi-Out Channels and 48 Midi-In Channels on it) So I fear you're having some different kind of Problem in your Midi-Setup (?!) Perhaps a Midi-Divice in the Midi-Chain filtering some SysEx or not being able to cope with the Amount/Speed of the SysEx-Data? Perhaps try to directly connect your SidStation to Midi In/Out of your computer with nothing inbetween. If this won't work, you've possibly a defective Midi Interface, Cable or Sidstation. Hope everything will work out fine for you though, Good Luck! Johann ============================================================== Johann H. The format is designed with padding bytes that allows it time to allocate memory etc. when needed. So the problem lies elsewhere! :) __ __///Daniel Hansson | SidStation - MOS6581 Synthesis \XX/ daniel@... | www.sidstation.com
