Heh, my dream setup = one MD controlling 2-3 midi channels on my XTk, plus
doing its drum stuff, and another MD controlling 4-5 channels on my microQ
The xtk, and mQ going into 1 mixer, with the 2 MD's on a dj mixer.....best
live rig I could ever dream of, and im only 1 MD, and a dj mixer away!

Insert Row in MD Song Mode?

2002-06-23 by W. Brent Latta

Maybe I just missed this in the manual...

Is there a way to Insert a completely new row between two already
established rows in the MD's song mode?

Seems like this would be a pretty common-sense feature...

The manual says you can hit "function+down arrow" to insert, or
"function+up arrow" to delete, but I just tried it and can't get it to
work...... hmmm. Try it and see if it works for you.

Yeah, that works fine for me....iirc, it was a recent-ish addition to
the O.S. It doesn't insert a blank line, rather a copy of the one
you've selected (which is actually much more useful!)

The only thing I don't like about it is it doesn't copy the start and
length from the source row!   :}

[elektron] Re: Insert Row in MD Song Mode?

Yep, I got it to work too...Basically it works like the "repeat"
function in a software sequemcer, repating the selected
pattern.... Yes, slightly irksome that the pattern length/offset, but it
just means a little more wrist strain.......
On another note, does anyone notice their MD getting unstable
when it has too many patterns? My MD was getting crashy again
(it had been before), but after clearing out the non-user memory,
everything seems to be stable....anyone had this experience?
cheers, Jeremy

Nope. I've had 126 patterns in it, and it worked fine.
