sidstation patcheditor

2002-07-31 by Chris Stammen

Is there a sidstation patch-editor for windows? If not, I want to program
one.
Wat I have in mind is a screen with a few tabcontrols (OSC, LFO, SEQ, etc.),
a little sequencer so you can hear what you're doing, and some other
main-functions.

ps. My apologies for spamming this list. The mail was sent to my whole
contact list including mailing-lists. That wasn't on purpose and it won't
happen again.

I worked for the company that made the Harry Potter PC game, which
consisted of four straight months of six and seven day weeks, that's what
happened. :) Then I decided finishing my album had to come before the
patch editor.

I'd still like to do it, but it's been pushed back on my priority list for
now. If someone else wants to take up the reins, that's great! Go for it!

I was thinking about maybe writing one in java, since platform independence=
is good. I have begun writing a basic patch-class and it now supports stori=
ng all the data necessary and returning byte-arrays containing Direct Progra=
m sequences (though I'm haven't understood how to get the Pitch Sync Speed (=
50..200) to fit in a seven bit number and why you can add the LFO-output to =
all four LFO's in the Direct Program message but only to the three (other?) =
LFO's in the SYSEX patch data).
Cool things that I would like to support is Direct programing of patchdata =
and SYSEX up-/download, but I'm not sure wether the java midi-interface will=
 allows for this.

Mac OS?? Ehm.. I'll build something for Win98 (with delphi5).. Maybe there is some Delphi->MacOS convertor so I can compile it afterwards to another platform. Anyway, the Win98 has to be finished first..

make it win2k compatible -> that's no prob with delphi 5 -> what about
programming it on delphi 6 and porting it to linux with kylix? ->
