I made a layout in Delphi5. I only need a good component to get access to the MIDI interface. And there isn't much around for Delphi5.. Can anyone provide me a delphi5 midicomponent? (hm, I think it's time to join another mailinglist for these problems....) Anyway.. there is definately going to be a big C64 sign in it..

I was thinking about maybe writing one in java, since platform independence=
is good. I have begun writing a basic patch-class and it now supports stori=
ng all the data necessary and returning byte-arrays containing Direct Progra=
m sequences (though I'm haven't understood how to get the Pitch Sync Speed (=
50..200) to fit in a seven bit number and why you can add the LFO-output to =
all four LFO's in the Direct Program message but only to the three (other?) =
LFO's in the SYSEX patch data).
Cool things that I would like to support is Direct programing of patchdata =
and SYSEX up-/download, but I'm not sure wether the java midi-interface will=
  allows for this.

got my machine drum today. *very* tickled with the purchase. it's easy to
make it sound really corny, but equally easy to make completely alien out of
this world rhythms. and the interface took all of an hour to learn. well
done!

after about 2 hours I began to notice spurious track-firings when I was
adjusting parameters --strange, indeed. no idea if this is par for the
course...

as an aside, does anyone have a rackmount kit they're willing to part with?

glad to be amongst you! -E.

Ok, got any idea about fileformats? I think that the SYSEX format used by t=

mm, another advantage is that the same code can be used to generate the byt=
estream for saving to files and sending to the sidstation.

Some kind of SYSEX-patch management program would be nice. I also think tha=
t a program capable of generating SYSEX-patch files from some kind of human-=
readable format could be useful. I'll write one.
