Contrast?

Contrast?

2002-08-14 by privat_joy

Hi!
Is it possible to change the contrast of the display of a MD?
Nothing found inside the Docu, maybe a hidden function somewhere...

If it is hidden, it is hidden under the hood of the MD. Open it up,
and see what you can find there. BEWARE! Warranty stuff?

Have a look at <http://www.machinedrum.com/mdshowroom.php?p=4> so you
know what to expect.

You have to pull the rotary knob off, and there's a little
potentiometer under there that you can twist with a small screwdriver.

Warning: The rotary knob is on there *really* tight... At least,
mine was. It was actually connected so tightly that I almost ripped
a part off of the mainboard (luckily it held); I recommend using very
STEADY force (rather than jerking), and using some sort of non-
metallic vice grip to hold the knob (so that you don't scratch it
up)... Someone on here recommended using a rubber band to make a
grip. I did that but then had to use a large wrench to pull with
because my knob was so tight. Maybe yours won't be as bad.

Good luck!

MD songs locked to software sequencer?

2002-08-16 by Eric Peterson

I'm trying to integrate the MD with my CubaseSX sequencing rig. I don't have
a preference as to which is the MTC master, but I need to be able to
navigate around and play back sub-sections of songs both for composition and
editing.

Is anyone using the MD in tandem with a software sequencer? How have you got
it setup? Any pointers?

Sorry if this is vague, but I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to rig this up.
I fell in love with the MD, but it's got to get along with the family
eventually... ;P

One more follow up question: Are the MidiCCs associated with the Parameter
Locks transmitted along with the notes? They do not seem to show up when I
record into SX... Is this by design?
