low noise ext. filtering tip!!!
2000-02-03 by Saul Goode
hello all, just thought i'd share some tips for using the 'ss' for external filtering, while keeping the noise floor at its lowest. first put it in 'POLY MODE'. then turn the waveform OFF. then turn ON the gate in the 'env' section, and put the sustain to 15. all you novices still with me?.....good. now this part is up to you, depending on what you like. go to the filter page and try LOWP or HIGH for example. now, if you don't turn on any osc the 'ss' will be at it's quietest, but the ext. audio won't be as punchy. now try it with one osc on(a little noisier, but your signal is also louder). if you wanna be cool like me you'll turn on all the ocs's, and assign a lfo to cutoff and DCTRL's for cutoff, lfo depth and lfo speed. i allways debate wether or not i should share programing tips with people, cuz I had to figure it out myself right, plus i think it's funny when people buy gear and they cry that they don't like it cuz they can't figure it out, but i thought why not share. peace. sg. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
