MD 1.12 bug?

MD 1.12 bug?

2002-10-28 by Mind Mechanic

Anyone else getting a bug when switching pattens in Extended mode?
The kit associated with the pattern I'm switching FROM stays around
for the pattern I'm switching TO. Pretty damn annoying, and
basically ruins the automation I've programmed for controlling the MD
from my MPC. I think I'm going to have to go back to 1.11 until they
fix it.

Hm, it should only do this if the pattern you're switching to is empty.
Although if you're sequencing entirely with the MPC that would explain
it. If this is the case, you should be changing kits via MIDI when you
want a different kit, not switching to an empty pattern with a
different kit assigned to it. If your patterns aren't empty, then this
is definitely a bug. I haven't had it happen to me tho.

Do you have program change switched on or off under global settings?

The patterns are empty. How do I change kits via MIDI? I have the
MPC set up to change patterns via MIDI.. didn't think it was possible
to change kits.

Press record on the mpc and change the kit while recording. Check
what the mpc sequencer says in step mode. Of course the mpc won't say
"kit change". It will be like a "program change" and a number or
"controller" something like that. Then you can just remember. It's
going to need some testing because of the many kits. I think I'll try
this at home, I never did it before.

Okay, I just looked it up in the MD manual. Looks like it's a
sysex $58.
