I think it's only limitations in the sound dept. would be acoustic drums, but
that's not really why you buy a machine like this.

Hello,

I've had the machinedrum for a few weeks now... and I've been using it
non-stop since I got it. First off, the Machinedrum is perfect for anyone
wishing to take a step onto new grounds. I personally write experimental
folk music (don't laugh) and I've made some very interesting kits just by
lightly digging into the parameters. It covers a really large range of
sounds, and for what it does, no other single drum module can do.

The thing that sets the machinedrum into its own category, Is the tactile
sound creation interface. If taking your time to do sound design is your
thing, you'll love this box.

The only one thing I would really want is a slightly more agressive kick.
Something with more bite and long decay (that is to say, i've already made a
few using the EFM kick, which are excellent, but another variation wouldn't
hurt)

Advocate of new machines,

Isn't the B2 in trx machines what you are looking for?
Try to layer 2 different kicks.

Yeah, maybe the ability to cross modulate (i.e., have the 2nd kick affect
the decay of the first, long kick) is a better description of what I want.

yes, I've often wished for a good "wood hit" sound to accompany it.

On the other end of the spectrum, it won't go crazy DSP-digital noise on you.

probably most people are glad about that....

I second that motion. But lets have some example machines. What
would they be? I'd like to know what the main four machines haven't
covered as of drum synthesis.
