Elektron Musical Instruments

Ok, I'm not actually considering one or the other, but rather Im 
definatly going to get a machine drum...but I want a rack attack as 
well...Ive been using the soft version and while its great, it uses 
TOO MUCH dsp, and crashes my computer frequently.

anyway, my question is weather or not anyone else out there has both 
of these units, and if they do what is their overall impression?  do 
they overlap too much to make both neccessary?  I know the elektron 
has a great sequencer in it, and thats my primary reason for wanting 
it.  How good is that sequencer at controlling outboard gear (I would 
use it to trigger the rack attack).  Also, does the machine drum 
allow me to hook up a pad kit to its inputs (I have an octapad) and 
will it merge midi data from its input to its output (so I could 
trigger drums live as well as from pattern)?
