Plus if you do a correct dump, you should have at least two hundred and
something messages.

I guess you should check the buffer sizes and delay in midi-ox. Doesn't have
it in front of me here but I'll check

I've been digging a little on the midi-Ox / MD connection. On my machine, it
works nicely with the following settings:

http://n0s.10pm.org/temp/midi-ox.jpg

When you send all data, do the following checks:

The MD should send 232 messages (at least on my unit running 1.11)
The resulting file size is about 400k (405.596 bytes on my test)
The file is smaller, probably you have a problem with input setting in
MidiOX
Check the file by sending it to the MD in SYSEX REC/VERF mode... you should
get 232 messages and zero errors..

Hope this helps

Note that my impression is that the verify operation does verify the
integrity of the SYSEX datas recieved but does *not* verify the data
itself... I've been curious and changed one global parameter before doing a
second VERF and still got the 232msg /0 errors...

Well, yes and no. It *does* verify the integrity of the data you are
sending it, by using checksums within the data blocks being sent.

However, if you are expecting it to compare the data against that
which is stored in the MD already, no, this does not occur. That
would be a data comparison as opposed to a Sysex dump verification...

However, now that you bring this point up, it makes me think that such
a feature would be a very nice addition to an MD editor. Hmmm.... ;-)
