hi Just wondering if anyone is into Amon Tobin's style of downtempo electro breakz? And if anyone is producing stuff like his on the MachineDrum...

hi Actually he uses a s6000, Sh101, Mackie D8b, Fireworx, Mutator, Cubase on G4 lots n lots of plugins Nord electro - (i guess because it has a fast action) 2003 Kit He's never used an MPC according to the info i have? only akai samplers and keying in samples by keyboard - I was surprised by this your right its almost all samples Still i think this Machinedrum could knock out some cool electro beats like in his latest Out there from out where. I use the filters to knock of the sharpness and get some of the flavour. ----- Original Message -----

>Last album was amazing for me ...and a definite step forward. Its more of an intense listen for sure...but the textures and level of detail is awe inspiring. Definitely not like supermodified. BTW check Golfer v boxer on supermodifed and see if you can spot the Morricone >MD for hiphop I've noticed that dnb and hiphop are all reaching for more electro sounding beats and the MD would be perfect for that sort of sound. I use the onboard filters and eq to take the edge off as it can sound too sharp. BTW - what are people making here? Just 4/4 ? or breakz? I like using the e12 on breakz and using the "retrig" For me the e12 is the most interesting kit don't know why people voted FM... ----- Original Message -----

I'm just discovering the e12 pssoblities. It's great for making synth sounds too. EFM sounds like your usual techno sounds. I try to use a little of all. I like the CB from efm, the hh from ?p?, bd from trx, etc. I also like to use alot of lfos. That's what they are there for right? I did a little cool break beat track with the MD last night through a timed lfo on the filter of my Virus. Sounded very early Funkstorung to me. I'll get some things up somewhere real soon. I have to record some old stuff I have on minidisc. Once I have a few tracks together. I like to get a little 4/4 and breakz. But breaks are more fun. I just started getting into using Kontakt so I'm going to get some samples in my music soon. Gonna make some stories... --- In elektron-users@yahoogroups.com, "Raj" <rajah_patel@y...> wrote: > > >Last album > > was amazing for me ...and a definite step forward. But I'm starting to get really into messing with the PI ones. Really interesting sounds possible, and very easy to infuse some of the latin-style flavor I've been looking for (tablas, congas, etc, no problem w/ the PI tom as a starting point)
