next question, Noise Gate Suggestions...

next question, Noise Gate Suggestions...

2003-04-21 by evan cairo

thank you d3berg for your suggestions. we shall see how it pans out
when i go home from work, and try it out.

next question i have, an inevitable one to new sidstation users, is
what noise gate recommendations do you have. i know nothing about
different brands, who is better who to avoid, what one looks like,
how to use one. i expect i can figure the last two out, but i dont
know where to start yet...

thanks again,

evan cairo

---------------------------------

dbx 363x... half-rack dual gate that you can find used
for like $60 (maybe less) that should do the trick...

or if you do not need to do the noise gating the
very moment the audio leaves the SIDStation, you
can make use of Waves C1 comp/gate and it will do
the job quite nicely.

I have a Behringer Composer Pro. Costs about $90, works very well,
and you get the extra joy of gear snobs sneering at you because they
spent 5 times more for a product that performs exactly the same :).
