elektron support / crackling sound on outputs

elektron support / crackling sound on outputs

2003-05-19 by stevenlebeau

I've had my MachineDrum for about two weeks, and in that time I've
discovered intermittent crackling sounds on all six outputs (plus the
headphone outs). This crackling sound is actually as loud (sometimes
a bit louder) than the actual drum sound! Twisting the controller
knobs while pressing down to accelerate the inc/dec speed seems to
make things worse.

Seeing as I've just bought mine (and the fact that they didn't have
any in until the beginning of May), I'm assuming my unit was built
quite recently and thus shouldn't have any of the previous "quality
control" issues mentioned in previous posts by other users. My unit
came with 1.12b so I've ruled out any operating system issues.

Thing is, I've e-mailed elektron three times in the last two weeks,
and I STILL haven't heard back from them.

I'm hoping I won't have to send this thing back to Sweden, but if I
do I'd like to know right away.

If you've had similar problems with your unit (and you bought yours
around the same time I did, which was May 1st), please contact me
privately or publically about how you resolved the situation.

P.S.--if any Elektron employees out there are listening, please get
in touch with me as soon as possible.

Steven,
I have had similar problems with my MD.
There was a problem with the electrical
outlet that i was using for my other synths,
computer, amp... so the MD was acting weird.
An overload or a fluctuation in the signal.
It was working fine when i tried it in my bedroom.

Anyhow, i returned the unit cause it was in bad
condition when i received it. I kept it for few days
b4 sending it back cause i wanted to demo the MD.

Now i'm waiting for the new unit (friday probably)
and we'll see how it goes from there. I'll let
you know if i get the same problem again.

Simon
