Sidstation repair

Hello all! I just got into the Elektron products recently and I'm totally in love with them. Both of them are incredible. But as seems to be the trend in here, I'm having problems with them as well. The MD is fine (knock on wood) as far as I know, but my Sid is having major problems. I purchased the Sid used and the day that I received it I wiggled the PSU jack a bit and it cut power completely, deleting all patches in the process. It still does this from time to time and will even delete patches between a power off and a power on (with no movement to the unit or the PSU jack). The PSU jack is the Elektron-supplied one and the unit itself is about five months old, by the way. Elektron is being pretty cool about the situation. I've spoke with them several times (after the typical one week waiting period between emails) and they have even sent me a new PSU in hopes that this would solve the problem (it didn't). They're offering to repair it under warranty *IF* they deem that I didn't cause the problem myself ($50 and hour repair charge otherwise). So I guess I need to send it back. But here's my concerns: 1) import fees - I don't have the original paperwork; Elektron says it should be no problem getting it into Sweden, but they can't guarantee that I won't by charged any fees when it comes back to the US (where I am, by the way). How much should I be expecting to pay here? 2) delay time - if it takes them a week on average to respond to my emails, how long will it take them to repair the Sid and get it back to me? 3) posts in here - a couple of people have experienced similar problems to mine (in here) and one person even wrote that they repaired it themselves by re-soldering the PSU plug inside the Sid. Perhaps I should just do that instead of paying shipping/import fees (and possibly a $50 an hour repair fee) and waiting? So, what are your thoughts? Joe.
