Using Machinedrum to Trigger External Sound Modules

Using Machinedrum to Trigger External Sound Modules

2003-06-20 by Machine Love

I was checking out a friends machinedrum last night and we couldn;t
figure out if it was possible to use the machinedrum via MIDI to
select midi note numbers on various external sound modules, and if
it's possible to control things like velocity and volume too. i know
the MIDI control is quite extensive in the other direction, but is
anyone using the machinedrum to sequence patterns that are then
triggered by external sound racks?

You can control velocity but it's not like an Akai pad. The sequencer
requires alot of programming with a very simple user interface. It's
not easy but you need patience to program it that way. The basic fact
is you can't record velocity and volume in real time. At least that's
what I know... I wish there was more realtime recording. (My only
peave.)

Yeah, that's the duties for bringing it into the country. elektron
shows you this fee on page 4 of the order page, right before you get
thrown to the credit card entry page. Walk through a partial order as
though you were going to buy a machinedrum to see it.
