It sounds like your kit just went away.  What happens if you try to add an instrument to tracks 13-16?  For these tracks look at the LCD, under the pattern number what does it say?  If it says "GND>-->SYNT" that means nothing is loaded for that track.

Yes.. I second that. Before 1.12(?), changing to and empty track in
'extended mode' would change the kit to an empty one.. You can always try to
load the 'undo kit' to get back what you had...

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
