I have one. I was going to try to upgrade to a different patch bank, and I
even downloaded midi ox, but I posted and asked for settings in midi-ox (as
suggested on-list) to transfer sid sysex, but never got an answer back. I
think I may have even gotten a RTFM private reply. I did read both manuals,
but I was new to midi, and pretty much still am, and I still couldn't figure
out what to do. I was scared of crashing the sid so I shelved it for a
while.

I'll re ask my question, does anyone have the midi-ox settings to transfer
the sysex banks for the sidtation?

I don't have my Sid yet and I don't use Midiox, so I'm
not sure if there are special tricks involved...

BUT: when it comes to sysex, generally all you have to
do is make sure that the sysex ID number and base MIDI
channel are set the same on both the receiving and
transmitting ends of the chain. in other words, set
your Sid to sysex ID: 0 and MIDI channel: 1. then give
Midiox the same settings. make sure you have Midi
In/Out connected both ways and you shouldn't have any
problems loading your new patches into the Sid...

reduce the packet size, and increase the time between packets. You will find
details in the help file that is installed with midi ox. Cant remember the
settings right now, but all the info you need is at your fingertips =0) good
luck =0)

thinking happy thoughts
