MD audio input question

MD audio input question

2003-08-06 by Snare

I cant find this in the manual but is it possible to have the MD playing a
song/sequence while having external audio input into it at the same time?

If so, can someone walk me through how to do it ?

Thanks :)

Use the midi machine on say M1 to trigger your external gear then
have an input machine (A) on say M2. You have the audio of the
external device go in A.

The 3 different input machines behave differently. You should
experiment with alot of patience. The filter one doesnt seem to need
to be triggered by the MD. But the envelope machine needs to be
triggered by the MD, it's good for gating.

Yes, it is. In fact, I do this all the time with my Sidstation,
because then I can gate the noise from when it's not being triggered.
Plus then I can use the MD's delay, reverb and filtering
capabilities. Very nice indeed :-)

The online (most recent) manual describes the capabilities of the
respective input machines. Basically, you just choose an input (A or
B) and decide which machine you'd like to use (envelope, filter or
gate) based on your needs. You may have to trigger the machine in
order to have the audio come through it (audibly).

Good luck!
Joe.
