They say (on musicrun) that MM will be released on November/october,
at the end of public beta-test, and that's because a very important
person left the development team. Also they say that there will be
updates for MD but only after finalizing the MM.
Sorry for my messy english.

How do we get to be part of the "public"?

Which of you all is holding out, secretly laughing at
the rest of us while you dive into your new MM :-)

hmmmm...so I guess that's good news and bad news then, right?

good: the MD will be updated :-)
bad: the MM will be delayed (although it doesn't really affect me)

it might also be very bad that an important part of the development
team has left. I mean, I was sad to hear that the person who wrote the
MD's EFM algorithms had left; but this... I don't know. hopefully it
doesn't have a huge impact on their company.

but it is weird that Elektron has made no other statements regarding
this issue; not even to the friend email list.

Joe.

It's interesting to speculate WHY someone would leave Elektron???

I don't think they feel they owe explanations to a captive market.

I didn't speculate at all as to why anyone left.

>I don't think they feel they owe explanations to a captive market.

but they had to know that we'd find out either way. and they made a
press release for it because they apparently thought it was worth
mentioning.

I don't know. maybe my point came across wrong. I'm not saying that
anything bad will happen to Elektron or speculate as to why someone left,
etc. I'm just saying that with a company as unique as Elektron, having a
key developer leave can potentially be a bad thing.

however, I *do* have faith that they'll continue making excellent
products. I mean, they *did* say they'd be updating the MD :-)

Joe.
