Well, I can tell you that your plans will work well. ;-] My live rig is a Machinedrum, a Boss DR-660, a pair of Nord Micro Modulars, and a TiBook running Numerology (last set used 1.2b8) with some Reaktor ensembles for samples. I thought about using an ES-1 (had one, sold it), but Reaktor does loads more for me in the sample realm than the ES-1 could ever hope to. I don't use a Rane DJ mixer though. I use a small mixing desk. Haven't played with the SX yet, it looks nice, but the TiBook is already in use, no need for more.
