Using the SID for guitar sounds?

Ok, I can't sing, but I got an amusingly hard guitar sound running the SID thru a Quadrafuzz plugin. I reckon you could use the SID for Nu-Metal and electronic rock instead of guitars: eg: "Change The Tide" on www.mp3.com/neuroport at 1m:15s. There's something about the SID filter that just growls!
