No, you should contact the vendor that sold you the SidStation and see if
they are able to replace it with one that works. If they have another
unit sitting on the shelf, this is the quickest resolution to your
problem, and they can in turn ship the defective unit back to Elektron
whilst you go about the merry business of making the Sid sing.
If they cannot help you, get back to Elektron with your story and without
your attitude. You may have to ship the thing to Sweden so they can
tackle it in person, but I am fully confident that they will do what it
takes to resolve your problem.

20 of them! Ack! That's 10% of Elektron's remaining SID-stocks!

You are most welcome. Now, seriously--chill out. Calm down. I know
first-hand the frustration of getting one's hopes up for a new piece of
kit from a small outfit, only to experience problems and then the worry
that you may not be able to get the support that you could get for one of
the big leaguers.
Be patient--with the SidStation, with Elektron, with yourself. It'll all
be worked out so long as you don't give up and so long as you go about it
calm, cool, and collected.
