MnM strange things happen?

MnM strange things happen?

2003-09-26 by ripe

OK, I just want to ask others who have been trying out their new
monomachines... do a lot of strange things happen randomly?

I have been submitting bug reports on a lot of things, but then I go back
and try to recreate them and they don't happen again. I wonder if I'm going
crazy?

Most of the strangeness has to do with the sequencer when in "fancy" modes
(arp, multi-trig) or recorded tracks disappearing, but sometimes LEDs blink
(or don't blink) when they are supposed to, or sounds change randomly. But
as soon as I submit a bug they don't happen again for awhile... I know it's
beta, but I don't want to flood elektron with a bunch of bug reports that
they can't recreate!

cheers
JK

No, you're not.
I have the same strange things like notes dissapearing in the third
measure. Also mutes not working, trigs not working, hanging on
pattern change. When I reboot en do the exact same things everything
is fine, for a while.....
Seems the OS is still a little unstable, maybe a lot of them are
related to one simple bug.
I think it's o.k. to submit all those problems because maybe elektron
can see a pattern in all the different reports.

All the time. As long as I keep saving the kit often, and don't switch
patterns it works ok though.

Nopes, a lot of the behaviour still seems to quite random to me.

This happened two days ago. I was making some music on one pattern,
and all of a sudden the MnM locks up, high pitched sound going out
from the MnM. I restart the MnM, play the pattern again. Total lock
up. Again. Tried some more times. The same result. Restarted it again,
switched pattern to another one, hit play. Worked ok. Went back to the
pattern that crashed before, hit play again. The pattern played
without any trouble.

It is a bug, but I cannot figure out how to write a good bug report on
that one. Perhaps what I wrote above, but reproducing it? No. :(

We should all do what Roonan said, hand in those bugreports anyway,
and hope that Elektron will find patterns in them.
