Bug Reports and Knobs?

Bug Reports and Knobs?

2003-10-11 by ofthicktum

Hej
Finally got my hands on the MM after some shipping delays.
Haven't had time (2hrs) to find any bugs yet, but is there another
address that Elektron have set up for for "official" MM bug reports?

Intially I am impressed with the MM's build quality but does anybody
think the rotary knobs are made of a cheaper/lightweight plastic than
the MD and are slightly less resposive.
On my machine the bottom righthand knob sits very low and when I push
in for coarse adjustment it touches the plastic base. Is there anyway
of safely raising the knob.

Obviously this is something Elektron should be aware of for the next
batch of MM's, as those knobs are sure gonna get alot of twiddling!!

Cheers
UnoDave

I agree that they are a bit rougher to turn. But it's not because they're
of lesser quality. According to Elektron (check the archives at the yahoo
site for their comments), they had the encoders specificaly re-designed
for this feature and will soon be using them on the MD's. It took me
awhile to get used to it, but it's all good now.

I doubt it. Having cracked mine open to clean the LCD screen, I got a
good look at it's guts :-) And I don't think that there's much room for
adjustment there. But I could of course be wrong. Contact Elektron
directly about this and they'll let you know if there's anything that can
be done.

Now go play your new baby!
Joe.
