Sequencing external modules.

Sequencing external modules.

2003-11-30 by puretokyo2002

Loving 0.93, the Midi Sequencer is worth the price of admission alone. However, using
the midi tracks to trigger my external modules (in this instance a 5080) means all the
internal tracks trigger the 5080 as well. How can I prevent the internal tracks from
sending midi?

Also, how do I set a soft sequencer to trigger MnM patterns?

Thanks,

Angus.

PS: Its great that the mono tracks trigger MIDI, it makes this thing a real sequencing
powerhouse, as well as allowing midi patterns to be recorded in software and then
tweaked.

global menu -> control -> MIDI chanls -> channel span = 0
then no MIDI will be sent from (or received to) the internal tracks.

I *think* you want two things:
1) set the channel for trigging the patterns, which should be:
global menu -> control -> MIDI chanls -> multi map ch
2) then set up the note numbers that each pattern should be trigged
by (using the channel set above) with:
global menu -> control -> multimap edit

if this is incorrect, would someone please let me know?

Just tried this and unfortunately it seems to stop the MIDI Seq channels transmitting
MIDI as well... Any ideas?

Thanks for the help though!

Angus.

it shouldn't. it works just fine over here. you didn't shut off external
sequencing by accident did you? or change the MIDI sequencing channels
perhaps?

Nope. Havn't touched any settings since the reset, and turning channel span from 0
-> 6 restores midi transmission from MIDI Seq, but also from internal patterns.
Internal and MIDI seq seems to tied together... argh.

Thanks anyway,

Angus.
