SID Midi Reset

SID Midi Reset

2003-12-27 by Michael Tucek

often, when I'm controlling my sidstation with the mm and I press stop on
the sequencer, the sid resets or crashes... sometimes the memory is also
resetted....

somebody knows this problem?

hmmm... well I've experienced something similar. it doesn't crash or
reset; but it will continue to play a single note until I hit the stop
button (note off event). this occurs if you put the "LEN" parameter to
127 (which is hold, basically). perhaps you are doing this and it's
messing with your Sid?

also, be sure that the MIDI channels of the MnM aren't overlapping the
one used by the Sid. I've experienced some weirdness with that and
other synths when trying to use the MIDI sequencer; the MnM would
change to different patches on the external synth at random times and
other weirdness. this could freeze your Sid, especially if the MnM
tries to change the Sid to a patch number greater than 99. the Sid
will not wrap patch numbers greater than 100 back to 0 and you will in
fact start corrupting your memory if you tread into this area.

Joe.
