[Mono] How does the sid-machine sync stuff work anyway?

Hi, I've been playing with Sid-machine and trying out different sync/ringmod-stuff. I get all kind of sounds, but I don't have any idea how these work. Can anyone lighten us (I'm sure there is someone others too interested on these)? I'm mainly talking about Msrc, Mod and Mfrq parameters. Any tips on using these (have'nt seen these kind of stuff in any other synth)? Toni.
