MD - compatibility with doepfer pocket fader?

2004-01-31 by steve bean

thinking about getting a pocket fader to control the levels of the MD's 16
tracks for live use. anyone know if the pocket dial is compatible? the
doepfer website only lists software compatibility

Should be no problem. The MD just use plain Control Change, and
that's probably exactly what the pocket fader likes to spit out.

I think he wanted to know about the pocket dial, though he did mention
the pocket fader. the pocket dial expects MIDI messages form the controlled
device, telling the endless encoders where to start. it can also send
relative MIDI messages (i.e. +/- values) but the controlled device needs
to be set up special to handle these (and most aren't).
