2 OS suggestion

2004-02-05 by Rui Peixoto

Hi there!
I dont know why the 2 OS suggestion seemed to freak so many of you out
there. I mean Id understand if someone from elektron showed up saying that
it is not possible due to technical reasons of some sort, and for sure we
had to respect them. But I just cant understand you guys. I mean, I clearly
respect your ideas of wanting to keep the MD as it is atm, and keep your
kits and such, BUT you should also try to respect and understand those that
would like to see some changes in the sound, specially if they are
relatively easy to implement. The 2 OS suggestion is really because of you
guys feeling intimidated by an extra "switch" knob somewhere in a hidden
menu. Itd also save memory. You guys could choose which one to d/l and
install. But so could we.
Sorry for the rant but it all comes down to not tolerate intolerance.

It would also mean double work for the new features, double bug
tests, double documentation (both internally at elektron and
externally). Some would want just something from OS1 and some would
want something from OS2. It really would mean double or more work for
elektron. I can say for sure that double OS thing was 'dead idea' at
the begining. Image microsoft (or apple) making different versions of
the same program just becouse someone like their windows colored less
blue.. huh.. It's not going to happen (and better for all of us).
This is my opinion of matter. ;)

Toni.

Sure Toni. That was what I said. If it is for the extra work and
possible technicle problem that may arise it is 100% understandable.
But at the time I wrote the previous message no one from elektron had
said that it was impossible to do. The people that were against the
idea (it´s not a bright one I know) were the ones that were not
interested in the change. If it is undoable let´s just forget it, but
there are people that just can´t understand the other side of the
story. That´s bad.
Plus, Microsoft sucks. Elektron rules!
peace out
