Re: [elektron] Digest Number 1130

Feh. 909s. I can say that because I had one for a year. I eventually traded it to Elektron for a Machinedrum, giving it a tearful buh bye and packing it into a box, because I wanted an MD but couldn't justify owning two "car priced" drum machines. My music, especially from a live perspective, totally improved pretty much the day the MD arrived. Just for starters, I was using a mixer to emulate the mute buttons, and that gets pretty expensive pretty quick. Try turning the pots on a 909 quick enough to do good mutes. Then try doing it to 10 drums at once. My crew has a term for this tendency to lust for 303s and 909s (there's a 303 in my house btw) : antiqueno. A studio setup with a 909 and a 303 is kind of the gear equivalent of an AC/DC cover band IMHO. AC/DC totally rocks, and hella people like them, but stop trying to be AC/DC cuz they already did it. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
