MD: MIDI note-off not sent in song mode?

MD: MIDI note-off not sent in song mode?

2004-02-05 by divi309

here i am again...

got this weird thing: i made a few patterns on my MD, including 2
MIDI tracks for playing my sidstation and microkorg. no problem when
i play them here.

now when i go in song mode and arrange one with those patterns and
play it, the notes of the sid and microkog keep sounding as if they
didn t receive note off messages!

is this normal?

greets, d

(i m running into these things all at once 'cause i got my MD last
weekend, and i m really getting into it now)

Does this happen all the time? Sometimes it's your midi chain. It
would help to know how you have your MIDI cords arrainged. The
other thing is why I asked "all the time". It could also be your
global midi set up in the MD. You have to have the MIDI Map keys
turned off in the MD so you don't hear the the other synths when you
press the buttons on the MD except the midi track. It also may help
to have your global midi channel in the MD to the last four
channels.

serious now, MIDI chain:

MD out>>in SID thru>>in MICROKORG (thru>>in CUBASE)

the midi channels or set to unused channels. i ll have to try with
the MIDI map keys turned off tonight.

i don t know if this is related but i can t seem to make cubase SX2
respond to the start/stop buttons of the MD. i can see cubase is
receiving MIDI data (from the LFO). but this could be some setting
in cubase.

Re: MD: MIDI note-off not sent in song mode? [BUG REPORT]

2004-02-06 by divi309

"nou breekt m'n klomp!", like my dutch friends say...

my problem occurs only when a MIDI note is triggered on the first
step of the song! if i place the first MIDI note on the second step
of the song, everything plays as expected.

very weird! could it be a fault in my unit?

ciao d

by the way, the note that keeps playing stops when i push stop
twice: the first time the song stops, the second time the note stops
