do i need midi in to update my monomachine's OS?

hey? i have a monomachine, and i have a midi converter with simply a 
broken connnector, and it only has a midi out, i really can't afford 
another midi converter...and i'm wondering can i get by just by 
having a midi out on my pc's midi converter?  i hope so?:)  i

yes. PC->Monomachine is all you need to update the OS. BUT be warned that
backing up your data prior to updates is highly recommended. the OS1.0
update claimed that a factory reset was needed in order to hear the
presets. but on first boot (after updating) I found my Mono with
only the presets on it and my songs/kits/patterns completely gone.
luckily I had backed them up prior to updating.

Anyway, just thought I would warn you in case you have anything in there
that you don't want to lose.

how do i back it up? i have a 440 that can recieve/send sysex, i 
guess i'll use that?

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
