Drum and Bass

2004-06-04 by mookinx

Hi,

I'm saving up for an MD and was wondering if anyone has used one for
making Drum&Bass tunes. I did a quick search in the group but nothing
came up. I'm interested to know if anyone has done a DnB track with
the MD as the only source of percussion.

cheers,

mike

I have. DnB is great on drum machines. ;-] Great way to get real
good at complex percussion... lock yourself in a room with an XoX box
and get DnB out of it for a few months.

The more modern DnB would often want a decent sampler, so you might
want to augment with a cheaper old rackmount or an ES-1 or ESX-1. The
Machinedrum can trigger external sounds via midi, but it does eat away
at tracks you could use for the internal "machines".

Hi Damon,

Are there any of your tunes on the net? I'd like to hear what the
machinedrum can do to DnB.

thanks,

mike

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
