LivePA excerpt from Friday

LivePA excerpt from Friday

2004-06-09 by Chris Thomas

Hey folks,
Played a LivePA on Friday @ a street party. Lineup included Bryan Zentz headlining.
The torrential downpour stopped just as I was setting up under the tent
too - my Swedes would not have taken kindly to being waterlogged :)
Anyways - here's a couple excerpts from it.. Let me know whatcha think!

Hey Chris, very nice!
By the way, I went and saw some of the pictures of
your home studio. One question...what the hell were
you doing with that baseball cap?

Thanks man!
The baseball cap is my brain-to-midi interface... (lol - I wish!!)

Nice to see we have (almost) the same Live set. (more about me:
www.roonan.nl) This combi is very easy to work with and the quality
of results is very high. Maybe you could also consider a Kaosspad
II, very nice addition :-)

About the tracks, I like the second better.
I found that working Live can make it difficult sometimes to capture
the essence of a good build up. At home the Live recordings are
alway's the best but on stage things go different a lot of the time.
Maybe it's the exitement or the fact people are watching and hearing
your every move. For my next gig I'm planning to use Ableton to mix
complete home recorded Live tracks and only use one additional Live
box, the ESX synced to Ableton. This way I don't have to do all at
once and I can focus on what i'am doing. It's not entirely Live
anymore but I hope the overall flow will benifit from it. Afterall
everything is my own and it was all created Live at some point.
I'll post my findings and put some examples online.

Ronald.

Man I've been behind apparently my email addy bounced for some
reason.. anyhow...

I think Live4 will solve all of my problems.. gonna use that w/ a midi
controller to control loops and whatnot that trigger the gear.. I
think that way I will have the control Live gives me, yet still having
things synthesized on the fly.
Thanks for the comments too!
