Hey John, Just wanted to point out that all of the Emu's up until the EIII
were SSM, The EIII was CEM (Curtis Chips) I have a few machines with the CEM
filters and they are wilder then my Emu stuff.. more so to the point that
they distort the sounds you run through them. the emu SSM's are very warm and
don't change the Timbre anywhere near as much. if you get a chance pick up or
borrow a SCI Prophet 2000 sampler... The Emax is way better in flexibility
but the sound of those distorted filters are nice. Nicholas
