I too used the same combination for many happy years. The thing that caught me out at first with supermode was leaving the MIDI echo function on the MMT8 switched on if I changed programs on the Emax front panel. If you are not switching this mode off each time you change programs, try it - it should sort this. The explanation being (I think) that with MIDI Echo switched on, the MIDI Program Change message you inadvertently trigger when you hit the switch on the Emax is being bounced back via the MMT8 back to the MIDI in and overriding the supermode setting for that channel.
