Supermode

Supermode

2003-01-27 by anthony wilson

Hi

just a quick question, im trying to run my EmaxII from an Alesis MMT8
sequencer but im having problems with the supermode. For the sake of making
matters easier i assigned preset 1 to track 1, 2 to track 2 etc up to 8 (no
of tracks on sequencer) What i found that tracks 1 and 2 would play presets
1 and 2 but 3 up to 8 would only play preset 1. Any ideas why this happens?

cheers

Anthony

Re: Supermode

It's really nice to hear some one that is working as I did in the
late -90.
I did also have an Emax SE and a MMT-8, still got the Emax SE and
totally agree that John did say about filters in an earlier mail.

The E-max and the MMT-8 are both good, but it seams that they are not
fitting together.
I'm not sure if you working with the sequencer on the Emax as
a "slave sequencer", or if you just working with the MMT-8 as
sequencer.

My only advice is to just work with the MMT-8 as a sequencer and not
trying to slave the Emax sequencer...

cheers/

RE: [emax] Supermode

2003-01-27 by Steve Adam

I too used the same combination for many happy years. The thing that caught
me out at first with supermode was leaving the MIDI echo function on the
MMT8 switched on if I changed programs on the Emax front panel. If you are
not switching this mode off each time you change programs, try it - it
should sort this. The explanation being (I think) that with MIDI Echo
switched on, the MIDI Program Change message you inadvertently trigger when
you hit the switch on the Emax is being bounced back via the MMT8 back to
the MIDI in and overriding the supermode setting for that channel.

Hope this helps.
